About JobServer.NET

It Started with a Need

JobServer.NET has a long history in that it started out as an internal tool that was used with, and was provided to our consulting clients for many years. Many of the earliest parts of JobServer.NET, can even be traced back to a collection of many custom purpose built tools and utilities. Some of these were custom glue that provided the connection between other applications. Others were small custom tools, scripts, and utilities that we built to address a variety of needs. Often these were necessary pieces to the solutions we provided to our clientelle. And occasionally other focused tools were directly requested by clients to address specific needs that they had.

Eventually these various tools were being used often enough that it became obvious to us that we wanted to simplify this growing collection and make a singular tool that filled many of the needs all of these separate tools were performing. By doing this, it would provide the added benefit of making it significantly easier to install and manage this ever expanding functionality. It also allowed for easier ways to add more cohesive features which would make the individual tools work even better, by being integrated together. The first versions of JobServer proved out the utility this approach had. It worked so well it continued to be an essential part of our toolkit with our clients for many years.

After using this powerful tool over multiple clients and sites, we continued to build up quite a wish list of how we would like to continue to improve it. Over time, we rebuilt the application with even more functionality that would take it further, and it became a platform that can be of use to a multitude of organizations. Today, JobServer.NET has continued to evolve and grow. We still have many plans to keep improving it and with its modular architecture, it is a platform that can easily keep growing and expanding.
