JobServer.NET has a long history in that it started out as an internal tool that was used with, and was provided to our consulting clients for many years. Parts of the very first versions can even be traced back to many other smaller custom tools, scripts, and utilities that we built to address a variety of needs that our clientelle directly requested or was a value-add to our existing work.
Eventually these various tools were being used often enough that it became obvious to us that we wanted to simplify this collection and make a singular tool that solved many of the needs covered by this collection. This would provided the added benefit of making it even easier to install and manage. It also allowed for easier ways to add more cohesive features and make the individual tools work even better, together. The first versions of JobServer proved out the utility this approach had. It worked so well it continued to be an essential part of our toolkit with our clients for many years.
After using this powerful tool over multiple clients and sites, and over several revisions, we continued to build up quite a wish list of how we would like to improve it even further. Over time, we rebuilt the application with even more functionality that would take it further, and become a platform that can be of use to any size of organization.
