JobServer.NET started as an internal tool that was used with, and was provided to our consulting clients for many years. It could even be argued that it started being formed even earlier than the first actual version of the application. Drawing from a wide variety of custom tools and applications that we had developed over time. Many of these tools were various small to mid-sized applications, or scripts, written to address different problems and needs that our clientelle experienced, or as a value-add to our work.
Eventually these various tools got used often enough that it became obvious to us that we wanted to simplify this collection and make it a singular tool. This would make it even easier to install and manage. And better yet, it would allow for easier ways to add more cohesive features and make the individual tools work even better, together. The first versions of JobServer proved out the utility that this had. It worked so well it continued to be an essential part of our toolkit with our clients for many years.
Finally after using this fantastic tool over multiple clients and sites, and over several revisions, we continued to build up quite a wish list of how we would like to improve it even further. We rebuilt the application again, and this time, we kept going with even more features and refinement that would take it further, and become a platform that can be of use to any size of organization.
